Board certification is the highest level of evaluation by The Florida Bar of competency and experience within an area of law, as well as professionalism and ethics in practice. Chad has been board certified in real estate law since 1994.
Board Certified Condominium and Planned Development Law Attorney
As an eminent attorney in the field, Chad was appointed in 2016 to serve as a member of The Florida Bar's inaugural nine-person committee for Condominium and Planned Development Law Certification, and will serve as Chair for 2020-2021. The committee developed the criteria for this certification area, reviews the credentials of applicants, prepares and grades the examination, and recommends to the Board of Legal Specialization and Education that certificates be issued to qualified attorneys. Chad was among the first attorneys to receive this certification effective June 1, 2018.

Chad is pleased to offer his services as counsel to owner-controlled condominium and homeowner associations, and to select developer clients. Having supervised the Sarasota office of one of the largest law firms in Florida, Chad offers big firm expertise with personal care.
Chad co-authored Florida Condominium and Community Association Law from 2004 to 2018, which is a practice manual published by The Florida Bar as a resource aide to attorneys. He presently is a co-editor for the manual.
Chad has been a regular faculty member at the most prestigious condominium and homeowner association law seminar available to Florida attorneys: The Annual Ralph E. Boyer Institute on Condominium and Cluster Development, which is sponsored by The University of Miami School of Law. His recent topics include Director Duties and Liability: Officer and Director Errors and Omissions Insurance (2013); Property Insurance (2014); Replacement of Windows and Doors with an emphasis on hurricane protection issues (2016); New Legislation and Its Impact on Condominium Operations (2017); Structuring and Operating Phase and Series Condominium Developments (2018), and Emerging Amendment Issues (2019).
Chad also regularly lectures at condominium seminars sponsored by The Florida Bar, and in 2019, lectured on documentation to establish and operate larger projects.
